Ch. Mohana Vamsy
Ch. Mohana Vamsy (born September 21, 1964) is a prominent Indian surgical oncologist and the founder of Omega Hospitals, a multi-specialty cancer care chain in India. With over 35 years of clinical experience, he is credited with performing over 36,000 cancer surgeries. He is a pioneer in robotic oncology and advanced cancer treatments in South India.
Early Life and Education
Dr. Vamsy was born in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. He completed his medical education at the following institutes::
- MBBS & MS (General Surgery): Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry.
- M.Ch (Surgical Oncology): Cancer Institute (WIA), Adyar, Chennai.

Career
Before establishing Omega Hospitals, Dr. Vamsy held leadership roles at several major oncology centers:
- Senior Resident: JIPMER, Puducherry (1990–1991).
- Assistant Professor: Govt. MNJ Institute of Oncology, Hyderabad (1994–1999).
- Head of Oncology: Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad (1999–2002).
- Director & Chief Surgical Oncologist: Indo-American Cancer Institute & Research Centre (2002–2010).
- Founder & Chief Surgical Oncologist: Omega Hospitals (2010–Present).
- Member: Indian Medical Association (IMA) and Association of Surgeons of India (ASI).
Medical Contributions & Research
Dr. Vamsy is known for his work in Robotic Surgery and AI-integrated radiation therapy. He has published numerous research papers in national and international medical journals, including:
