Castle Cover is an over 50 insurance specialist based in Poole, Dorset in the United Kingdom. Founded in July 2006, Castle Cover was named as the fastest growing UK home insurer in 2007. The company is continuing to grow and develop, with over 200,000 policy holders and employing over 250 people. Castle Cover is expected to reach a turnover of £100m and sign up over 450,600 customers by 2011.
History
Castle Cover was launched on 31 July 2006 as the third major brand within the over 50s general insurance market. The company was formed with the aim to provide a high quality insurance service specifically for those who are 50 or older. As the over 50 market is considered to have a lower risk profile, Castle Cover is able to work with its select panel of insurers to offer competitive prices. Prior to the business launch, in May 2006 Castle Cover moved into its current headquarters overlooking Poole Harbour. The company first began offering home insurance. Since then the company has rapidly expanded into other insurance markets such as car insurance, travel insurance and pet insurance. Castle Cover has recently launched a mid net worth insurance product called Regal Insurance, aimed at those who require greater levels of buildings and contents insurance for their homes.
Operations
Castle Cover operate in a number of insurance areas, all aimed at the over 50 market:
- Home Insurance: the main products are buildings only, contents only or buildings and contents house insurance. Other home insurance products offered are holiday home insurance, buy to let insurance, caravan insurance and equity release
- Car Insurance: fully comprehensive, third party fire and theft and third party policies are available for car insurance.
- Travel Insurance: Annual Multi-trip and Single Trip travel insurance
- Regal Insurance: higher value home and contents insurance
- Pet Insurance
Recruitment

Sponsorship
Castle Cover currently sponsors the Poole Pirates, a local motorcycle speedway team, the 2008 Elite League national champions. This sponsorship began in March 2007 and was renewed in March 2008 until the end of 2009 in a lucrative 6 figure deal. The current deal could possibly be extended until 2010.
