CASM CK-GY

CASM CK-GY CASM CK-GY UAVs are Chinese UAVs developed by Beijing Ceke Spatial Info-tech Co., Ltd. (北京测科空间信息技术有限公司) of Chinese Academy of Surveying and Mapping (CASM, 中国测绘科学研究院), and many of which has entered service with Chinese law enforcement and governmental establishments. CK = Ce Ke (测科), a Chinese abbreviation of Ce-Hui Ke-Xue (测绘科学), which means Surveying and Mapping Science.

CK-GY01

CK-GY01 is a fixed wing micro air vehicle (MAV) with trapezoid shaped wing, but without any tailplanes. Propoulsion is provided by a two-blade propeller driven electric motor mounted in the nose. CK-GY01 utilizes commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) airframe produced by other domestic Chinese UAV manufacturers, which is integrated with domestic Chinese software indigensouly developed by CASM specially for aerial survey missions. Specification:

  • Payload (kg): 1

CK-GY02

CK-GY02 is a octocopter developed by CASM. This UAV has a rather rare look in comparison to other Chinese octocopters: instead of having eight equal length arms positioned to form an invisible circle like most Chinese octocopters, the eight arms of CK-GY02 forms an invisible square instead, because arms in diagonal position are longer. Specification:

  • Payload (kg): 2

CK-GY03

CK-GY03 is a fixed wing UAV in conventional layout with high wing configuration. Propulsion is provided by a propeller driven tractor engine mounted in the nose. Specification:

  • Payload (kg): 5
  • Launch: catapult
  • Recovery: parachute

CK-GY04 Survey Eagle

CK-GY04 Survey Eagle is a fixed wing UAV in twin boom layout with high wing configuration and inverted Pelikan tail. CK-GY04 has tricycle landing gear and propulsion is provided by a two-blade propeller driven pusher engine. Specification:

CK-GY04 CHY

CK-GY-04 CHY is a development of CK-GY-04 Survey Eagle with slightly smaller size, but the UAV is constructed more advanced composite material instead of fiberglass used earlier in CK-GY-04 Survey Eagle. The utilization of advanced honeycomb composite material reduces weight and extends the endurance by more than double the original endurance of CK-GY04 Survey Eagle, and achieved the same normal operating radius with eighty percent of the fuel originally needed. Specification:

  • Length (m): 1.8
  • Wingspan (m): 2.8
  • Payload (kg): 5
  • Endurance (hr): 4
  • Launch: taxiing or catapult
  • Recovery: taxiing or parachute
  • Normal operating radius (km): 30
  • Remote control system: Futaba
  • Autopilot: UP30
  • Fuel capacity (L): 4
  • Max wind speed allowed for operation (m/s): 5.5 – 7.9
  • Construction: honeycomb composite material
  • Max speed (km/hr): 140
  • Cruise speed (km/hr): 90 – 120
  • Ceiling (km): 3.5
  • Navigation: GPS
  • Engine: 5 hp

CK-GY06

CK-GY06 (also known as CK-YY06) is a high altitude, long-endurance aerial survey / photography UAV in conventional layout with low wing configuration and tricycle landing gear. Propulsion is provided by a three-blade propeller driven tractor engine mounted in the nose. CK-GY06 utilizes COTS airframe produced by other domestic Chinese UAV manufacturers, which is integrated with domestic Chinese software indigensouly developed by CASM specially for aerial survey missions. The COTS airframe is GAIC Harrier Hawk I developed by Guizhou Aircraft Industry Corporation (GAIC), and hence CK-GY06 is also called CK-YY06, with YY is the abbreviation for Yao Ying (鹞鹰) in Chinese, meaning Harrier Hawk, which is the name of the original COTS platform. Specification:

  • Length (m): 6
  • Wingspan (m): 10
  • Payload (kg): 50
  • Endurance (hr): 12
  • Launch: taxiing or catapult
  • Recovery: taxiing
  • Normal operating radius (km): 900
  • Remote control system: Domestic Chinese built
  • Autopilot: Domestic Chinese built
  • Max wind speed allowed for operation (m/s): 8 – 10.7
  • Construction: Aluminum skin semi-rigid
  • Max speed (km/hr): 230
  • Cruise speed (km/hr): 150 – 190
  • Ceiling (km): 7.5
  • Navigation: GPS

CK-HW13 (gasoline powered)

CK-HW13 gasoline powered UAV is an aerial survey UAV developed by CASM by utilizing (COTS) airframe produced by other domestic Chinese UAV manufacturers, which is integrated with domestic Chinese software indigensouly developed by CASM specially for aerial survey missions. CK-HW13 series UAV utilizes the same technologies applied to CK-GY series and is often marketed together with CK-GY series. CK-HW13 is designed to be deployed by a single person and it is in conventional layout with high wing configuration. Propulsion is provided by a two-blade propeller driven pusher engine mounted behind the wing that is eleveated from the cylindrical shaped fuselage. Specification:

  • Length (m): 1.1

CK-HW13 (battery powered)

CK-HW13 battery powered UAV is the electrically powered cousin of the gasoline powered CK-HW13. Like its gasoline powered cousin, it is also intended for aerial survey missions, and has the identical cconfiguration and layout. What differs the electrically powered CK-HW13 from the gasoline powered version besides the obvious difference in propulsion system is that the electrically powered version utilizes different material in its construction, namely, carbon fiber. Flight control systems are also different for the two versions. Specification:
