Casey Martin (Football)
Casey Martin (born September 29, 1992) is an American College Football Wide Receiver and currently retired CFL player.
Early life
Three-year varsity letterwinner at Huffman Hargrave High School, helping to lead the Falcons to the District Championship in 2010 ... Recorded 151 receptions and 2,390 career yards, along with 29 touchdowns ... Also had 1,600 career rushing yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground ... Finished prep career as Huffman Hargrave HS's all-time leader in receiving ... Concluded high school career ranked No. 14 all-time in Texas' 3A for receptions ... Three-time All-District performer ... District Special Teams Player of the Year
College Career
2011 (Freshman, Houston): Named to the 2011-12 Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll ... Did not compete during the season, taking a redshirt.
2012 (Redshirt Freshman, Houston): Named to the 2012-13 Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll ... Played in three games as a reserve wide receiver ... had three receptions for 13 yards at UCLA ... also pulled in a catch for seven yards against UAB.
2013 (Redshirt Sophomore, Houston): Did not compete during the season.
2014 (Redshirt Junior): Named All-Conference USA (Honorable Mention) ... Named a 2014-15 Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medalist ... Named to the 2014-15 Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll ... Played in 11 games on the season, making 10 starts ... Made Golden Eagle debut in the season opener against Mississippi State ... Earned the start against Middle Tennessee, North Texas and UTEP ... Finished the year with 531 yards on 55 receptions and two touchdowns ... Added 21 yards on one kickoff return and 134 yards on 15 punt returns for 686 all-purpose yards ... Professional Career
Before the 2016 NFL draft Casey Martin went viral as the "Next Wes Welker". After much hype Casey Martin went undrafted and signed with the CFL Ottawa Redblacks. Before the 2016 CFL season Casey Martin retired from the CFL.
