Captive Dreamer
Captive Dreamer is a white supremacist and neo-Nazi personality on the social media platform X. His account is followed by JD Vance, the vice president of the United States.
The account's name is the title of a memoir by a French Nazi soldier, while its profile picture is based on a mug shot of the American cult leader David Koresh. Captive Dreamer has voiced support for Adolf Hitler and quoted Mein Kampf. A self-described "Aryan" and white supremacist, he has promoted scientific racism and advocated for a racial hierarchy. In a now deleted tweet, he called for "Total N****r death". He also referred to Auschwitz survivors as "pathetic losers".
Captive Dreamer gained prominence during the 2024 US election after his viral tweets helped to promote a racist hoax about Haitians eating pets in Ohio. JD Vance amplified the hoax and later followed him. Elon Musk has also interacted with the account. In March 2025, an investigation by The Daily Dot identified a Canadian man as Captive Dreamer. That man's father, the president of a Christian university in British Columbia, issued a statement condemning white supremacist ideology.
