Captain Marvel (DC animated universe)

Billy Batson has a non-speaking cameo in the Superman: The Animated Series episode "Obsession".

First proper appearance

Billy Baston/Captain Marvel's first proper DCAU appearance came when he guest starred in the Justice League Unlimited episode "Clash" with Captain Marvel VOICED by Jerry O'Connell and Billy Batson voiced by Shane Haboucha. He joins up with the Justice League and is first seen defeating Parasite and wrapping him up in a street light. When he meets other members, Superman pulls him away to where the other core members are and berates him for "endorsing" Lex Luthor. When Superman refuses to trust Lex Luthor when in Lexor City, Captain Marvel intervenes and attempts to stop Superman. While he nearly beat Superman, Captain Marvel was defeated when he attempted to use too many SHAZAM callings. He was able to land two bolts onto Superman, but Superman reversed the tables and transformed Captain Marvel back into Billy Batson. Seeing that they were no longer the heroes that he worshipped (but changed and callous versions of themselves), Captain Marvel resigned from the Justice League. The climactic fight sequence between Captain Marvel and Superman pays homage to the Superman/Captain Marvel battle from Mark Waid and Alex Ross' Kingdom Come miniseries.

Supporting characters

Mary Marvel

Although she has not appeared in any other television programs or films, Mary Marvel is featured in issue 20 of the Justice League Unlimited comic book, in which she appears in the art style of the Justice League Unlimited television show.

Villains

Black Adam

Although he has not appeared in any other television programs or films, the character is briefly mentioned by his alter-ego's name, Teth-Adam, during a flashback in the "Ancient History" episode of Justice League Unlimited.

Mister Atom

Mister Atom appeared in an issue of the Justice League Unlimited comic book, where Doctor Sivana was trying to rebuild him with the help of a local gang. Atom and Sivana were eventually defeated by the Justice League, particularly Vibe.

Captain [...]

In an episode of Justice League Unlimited, Captain [...] made a round-AbOUT appearance. During a flashback sequence, a character who looks very similar to Captain [...] is prevented from taking a super-soldier serum by Fawcett Comics hero Spy Smasher. It is later revealed that the serum was created for "Project Captain [...]." General Wade Eiling broke into Cadmus Labs and injected himself with the mutated serum. He then went on a rampage against the Justice League. The idea of a super-soldier serum in a WWII-era setting is very similar to the premise of Captain America.

Doctor Sivana

Although Sivana never appeared in Justice League Unlimited, he does appears as a villain in issue 15 of the Justice League Unlimited comic book, when he tried to rebuild Mister Atom.
