Calez
Marcale Jenkins, better known by his stage name Calez, is an American rapper and record producer from Chicago, Illinois. He is best known for his collaborations with Chicago rappers Alex Wiley and Chance the Rapper, most notably the hit 2015 single, "Navigator Truck." Calez is a member of the Chicago hip-hop collective, "2000eighties."
MusicAL career
2011-2015: Various mixtapes
In 2012, Calez began transitioning from record producing to rapping when he released, "Kid with Raps." The debut mixtape received highly positive reviews from critics and was produced by several prominent producers in the music industry, including Flosstradamus and Mike Zombie. Soon after, in 2014, he self-released and self-produced his own album entitled "Ceito."
Following additional high acclaim, Calez was offered two major record deals from major labels, both of which he turned down. Calez, like many of his associated acts in Chicago, remains independent.
2016-present
On July 3, 2016, Calez made his radio debut with his hit-song, "312." The song garnered a great amount of attention in Chicago, and is set to be released commercially in his upcoming album, "Baby."
Calez released "Still Good" on August 22nd. The song received high critical acclaim, peaking at #18 on HNHH and receiving over a million plays worldwide with in a month of release.
