Brown Middle School (El Paso, TX)
Brown Middle School is a school located in Northwest El Paso, Texas. It was opened in 2007 housing sixth and seventh grade students from Dr. Hornedo Middle School.
Hornedo's 6th and 7th grade classes of 2007-2008, were moved to Brown Middle School due to overcrowding, while Hornedo kept its 8th grade and now houses 9th grade FreshMen from Franklin High School(known as the 9th Grade Learning Center). Once students complete the 7th grade, they will be transferred to Hornedo Middle School. Students from Guerrero Elementary, Kohlberg Elementary, Polk Elementary, and Tippin Elementary will be automatically enrolled to Brown for their first year.
Brown Middle School is known for its superb athletics & academics. Their school mascot is the "Bulldog" and their school colors are turquoise, silver, and black.
Brown offers girls & boys basketball, soccer, football, volleyball and track for 7th graders.
They have defeated all-time champions and rivals, Lincoln Middle School, on every occasion except in basketball in 2008 where they lost to Lincoln twice.
It has the highest TAKS scores in El Paso and has the best attendance rate. It has been declared the best middle school on the west side of El Paso.

Brown Middle School used to run on a block schedule. A block schedule is when you only have five periods each day. The periods are longer, and was used as a way to focus more in class. In 2008, we returned to the regualr eight period schedule, where classes last AbOUT forty to fifty minutes.
