Brown & James, P.C. is a midsize U.S. law firm with six Midwest regional offices. They primarily focus on corporate and insurance litigation and are one of the largest law firms in St. Louis and the State of Missouri.

They represent an extensive list of corporate and insurance clients regionally and nationwide, and are recognized as one of the top litigation law firms in the Midwest and as the Top Defense Firm in Missouri for both 2009 and 2010, as recognized by Missouri Lawyers Weekly. They have six offices, serving the states of Missouri, Illinois, Kansas, and Arkansas.
In 2010, Brown & James was named a Go-To Law Firm, as chosen by American Lawyer Media's In-House Law Departments at the Top 500 Companies. They were also named by U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers® to the 2010 list of Best Law Firms.
Awards
Brown & James has won numerous awards over the years for its legal practice. The Best Lawyers in America has added 10 Brown & James attorneys to its Best Lawyers list from nearly every practice area, including Medical Malpractice Law, Insurance, Construction, and Appellate Law. Best Lawyers has also awarded Brown & James attorneys with "Lawyer of the Year" awards, an award which, according to Best Lawyers, "only a single lawyer in each practice area and designated metropolitan area is honored."
In addition, Missouri Lawyer's Media has awarded Brown & James with the "Most Reported Law Firm Wins, Defense" for four years in a row. Super Lawyers has added 32 Brown & James attorneys to its Super Lawyers list, along with 12 Rising Stars. Attorneys have also won Lon O. Hocker awards and Women's Justice Awards. In 2012, Brown & James was awarded the "St. Louis Business of the Year Award."
Pro Bono Activities

Each attorney sponsor is asked to purchase and wrap two gifts (totaling $25) chosen from the child’s wish list and to stuff a stocking. Gifts are distributed during the party, to which the children and their families are invited.
