Broen (singer)

Bronwyn Ellis (born 8 March 1998), professionally known as Broen, is an English singer and songwriter who initially came as a contestant at a star spotting event held at Bolton's Holiday Inn, in June 2014. Later in the month Ellis signed a record deal with Steel Tiger Records and after receiving the recording contract she had begun work on her debut album entitled Welcome To Me.

Early life

Ellis was born in Bolton, Lancashire, England. In June 2014 at the age of sixteen she attended a star spotting event in her hometown performing Jessie J's 'Casualty Of Love', Anthony Costa from the boy band Blue and the entertainment host (that now happens to be her agent) stated that she has all the ingredients, a great voice, looks beautiful and she is very grounded with a good family behind her. She explained to Bnews: "I was so excited and happy because I have always wanted to be a singer, I thought the audition had gone really well, I was nervous but I went for it". She, big brother and sister had been attempting to find a suitable stage name, settled on "Broen". She found the name very simple and unique because it could easily reflect on upcoming music. She's to be considering to be a beauty therapist at a local college once she packs up from secondary school, that is if her singing career cannot go forward.

Music career

Ellis began doing theater shows in Bolton since 2012. In February 2014, she applied for the Teen Star Singing Competition, she had been deposited for Regional Finals that was held in Manchester with performing Demi Lovato's 'Give Your Heart A Break', In July 2014, Ellis announced in a interview that she had begun working on material for her debut studio album to radio station Bolton FM.

Style and influences

Ellis stated her MusicAL influences to Bolton FM ("I'm inspired by so many females artists, I've loved Jessie J for a long while, her style is cool, Paloma Faith, Shakira, Charli XCX is all good, Lana Del Rey, she has written a song that I like ‘Money Power Glory’ and Foxes (singer) is one of my recent favorites, she's a great singer and songwriter, i want my musical style to be as similar to hers".)
