Brodie Downs
Brodie Downs (born July 19, 1979 in Modesto, CA) is a Major League Baseball player who is currently in the Seattle Mariners organization. Downs graduated from Beyer High School in 1997. After high school Downs worked as a land surveyor, but decided to return to baseball. He pitched one season with Modesto Junior College, 2006-07. He was the Mariners' 23rd round selection in the 2007.
Professional Career
Downs began his pro career with the rookie level Peoria Mariners, recording first career win in his only appearance. He was transferred to the AAA Tacoma Rainiers on June 23 where he had some success statisticly. He was transferred back to Peoria on July 20 and then to the West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx on July 22. His combined record was 3-1 in 13 games with an ERA of 2.49.
In 2008 Downs spent the entire season with West Tennessee, appearing in 36 games 9 of those for starts. He started season in the bullpen, before moving into the starting rotation on July 1. His record was 5-2 with a 4.10 ERA.
