Brandon Warnes

Brandon Warnes is a sports writer for the Toronto Star, and has been writing for The Star for two years from 2006-2008. He was born on October 5th 1978, and has a younger sister named Taylor.

He was born in Scarborough and got his interest in writing through school where he often took writing classes.

His father Kevin Warnes played hockey for many years but never made it pro, and his dad's love for hockey is where he got his interest in the sport. Watching games together, either on the TV or at the Air Canada Centre is how Brandon become familiar with the game of hockey.

He has called a few hockey games for the Toronto Maple Leafs, sitting in with Bob Cole on two occasions, once on January 5th 2003 and again a year later on his birthday in 2004. In 2002 he won an award for "sports writer of the year" when he wrote for the Toronto Sun(wrote for the [Toronto Sun]from 2000-2006), award votes were cast by fans And Co-workers.

Currently he is residing in Newcastle Ontario and he is looking into getting his own sports radio station.
