Brad Stewart (journalist)
Brad Stewart is the president of Front Office Sports Enterprise and executive editor of Fan Huddle. In the past, he has overseen numerous sports media websites including MLB Front Office, NHL Full Access, and Major League Report. He has also contributed to a number of independent and mainstream media sources. Brad is currently a student at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.
Education
Brad is a graduate of Lake Forest Academy in Lake Forest, IL. He is currently a student at the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.
Career
Front Office Sports Enterprise
Stewart is the president and owner of Front Office Sports Enterprise. According to a July 13, 2009 Press Release:
Front Office Sports Enterprise believes that the key to unlocking the future of the media industry is finding the balance between interactivity and reliability. Therefore, when the company was looking to expand, they set forth two goals: (1) expand the company's offerings into all sports markets and (2) combine reliability with greater user interaction and a smoother interface.
Front Office Sports Enterprise is an independent media company dedicated to providing reliable news, information, opinions, and entertainment. The company was founded in August, 2007.
Fan Huddle
Stewart is slated to be the executive editor of Fan Huddle, a new sports media website launching in the fall of 2009 which is owned and operated by Front Office Sports Enterprise. According to a July 13, 2009 press release:
Fan Huddle will capitalize on new media techniques. The website consists of a network of blogs on every team in the NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB. Additionally, Fan Huddle will feature a large fantasy sports section and smaller sections on additional sports such as soccer, tennis, racing, mixed martial arts, and boxing. In all, Fan Huddle will feature over 100 articles published every day with over 150 writers on staff.
In addition to articles, the site will provide readers with the ability to interact with each other and discuss their favorite teams. Live chats with experts will be a regular feature on Fan Huddle and users will be encouraged to become engaged in the community.
MLB Front Office
Stewart served as the executive editor of MLB Front Office before the site closed on February 20, 2009. The site was a fantasy baseball advice website that featured weekly articles on fantasy baseball strategy, player news, a message board, an official fantasy baseball league, and a yearly fantasy baseball draft guide. As executive editor, Stewart oversaw an ever-changing group of staff writers that, at one point, included Derek Carty (The Hardball Times), Eric J. Seidman (Baseball Prospectus), Kevin Orris (Baseball Digest Online), and more.
Major League Report
In May, 2008, Stewart created Major League Report. He served as the executive editor until it closed on February 20, 2009. According to the website:
MajorLeagueReport.com is dedicated to providing the most relevant and up to date MLB news and rumors. MLR is part of the Front Office Sports Network and is written and operated by Brad Stewart and Kevin Orris.
The Report provided content on a daily basis with reports as soon as information is available. News and Rumors come from a multitude of sources and credit was given where due. MLR covered all thirty teams in the MLB and reported on all facets of the game. In addition to news and rumors, MLR provided special features and InterViews relevant to the biggest events in baseball.
Major League Report was founded as the baseball news branch of the Front Office Sports Network on May 24, 2008 and is (c) Front Office Sports Enterprise.
NHL Full Access
Stewart founded and edited NHL Full Access until it closed on February 20, 2009. Kevin Orris served as the associate editor. The site provided hockey news, analysis, and opinions.
