Bomba is the one of The Famous YouTube channel in Hong Kong. It is operated by five people: Fox , Felix , Kibi, Kong and Kikko. Its audience are the young teenagers and the audlts mainly. The production is separated into 2 channels- Bomba funny life and Bomba. The most popular video-“the voice of a girlfriend” has gained 1,000,000 views on the YouTube.
History
Bomba was founded in July of 2011. Their slogan is “ We dream, we do “. The channel is operated by five people who called themselves Fox , Felix , Kibi, Kong and Kikko. Bomba produced various types of videos.They have two channels - Bomba funny life and Bomba. Bomba funny life publishes videos every week and the style of the videos are funny and relaxing. For another channel, it publishes vidoes irregularly and there are more effects in the video thus the production usually requires longer time.
On 2012, SonyHK discovered Bomba andwas impressed by their fighting scene of the videos were suprisingly good, and invited them to film an advertisement , promoting their new video games with another popular youtuber in Hong Kong - Eminleo. This video has attracted million views on the youtube and bomba has gained popularity on youtube very quickly.
The subscribers of Bomba are increasing and there is more than 200,000 people currently subscribing its channel.

Fox Yu Kam Wing
He was graduated from the City University of Hong Kong. He is the elder brother of Felix Yu Kam Chung. He directed some videos to join competitions in order to gain money to direct more videos. When he was Year 3 student of Accountancy, he was admired by the Sony and supported by a huge amount of money. He added some computer graphic (CG) in every 0.01 second in one of his action movies. The video was broadcast on YouTube PlayStation hk. He has gained popularity on YouTube and he set up his own production company-bombs.
Felix Yu Kam Chung
He is the younger brother of Fox. He is now studying the City University of Hong Kong. He joined the team of “Bomba” because of the invitation of his elder brother. Being a designer and photographer, he also takes part as an actor in the video they shoot. For instance, he is the main actor in one of the most popular videos “The Voice of the Boyfriend” which is the second episode of “The Voice of the Girlfriend”. Apart from that, he is also a dancer. Thus, he shot some tutorial videos focusing on dancing and broadcast them on youtube channel.
Kibi
Kibi Ng Ka Ching was the primary schoolmate of Fox Yu and joined ‘Bomba’ because of the invitation of him. Apart from being one of the founders of “Bomba”, he is also one of the main characters in their videos. In the video “Bomba sport competition”, he has put down one dollar to challenge Fox Yu for computer game. And this has become a trend and one dollar has become a symbal of challenging others. He always speaks fluent Mandarin to pretend the upstarts, which are proud and impudent.
The pathway to success
Fox Yu Kam Wing has a great interest in directing movies. After he graduated from the university, he established video production company with his primary schoolmate and they haved started filming commercials for companies. Initially, he faced many challenges with financial problem being the biggest and major one. They originally could only use digital camera to shoot. Nevertheless, they did not give up and continued to participate in different filming competitions and won prizes which they used to purchase techniqual filming equipments. At first, their clients were mainly gaming companies. With rising popularity, their customers have been extended to all walks of life, including brands such as Ocean Park and LG. They now shoot 3 to 4 videos for the companies on average each month.
While they shoot videos for companies and advertisers, there are always conflicts between reality and their dream.In an interview, Fox mentioned that most of the costomers are not as passionate as they thought. The costomers suspected the innovation of Bomba’s ideas. Thus, they prefered using their own ideas. The vast majority of customers simply give Bomba money to shoot, rather than buying their creative ideas.At first, Bomba thought this was unrespectful. However, they now can view from customers standpoint , understanding their concerns of the effectiveness of promoting products. They can find a balance between reality and their dream. Their attitude is another factor to gain popularity.

In 2012, Bomba has produced a grappling video with a lot of high-quality computer graphic(CG) added. The video has attracted Sony and Bomba was then invited to help produce a Youtube video with another popular youtuber - Eminleo for the advertisement of Sony’s new game. The video for Sony has attracted more than ten thousand views and bomba has gain popularity soon .After all, there were more companys get in touch with bomba and asked them to fillm a video which promote their products. For example, Loreal’s face cleanser and Cha Chaan Teng’s milk tea.
The most viewed video by bomba by the October of 2014 is “ the voice of the girlfriend “ , it has attracted more than 1,000,000 views , ranked on the top ten most viewed videos by the end of the 2013. It is about the difference between what girlfriends say and what they really think in their mind. It shows that there are sharp differences and it is used to explain why the boyfriends cannot understand their partners. It is ironic to discover that the girlfriends have double standards and do not practise what they tell to their boyfriends. They always expect the boyfriends can understand what they actually mean in mind. For example, when the girlfriend receive a figurine from her boyfriend on birthday, they will smile and say thank you reluntantly but they do not like the gift in mind. The video also tells some “so sad but true” facts which are familiar to most of the boyfriends in Hong Kong. That is the reason why the video is so popular.
