Bogota Laser Refractive Institute
Bogota Laser Refractive Institute (BLRI) is an eye surgical clinic located in the north of Bogota, Colombia. The actual president and owner is famous ophthalmologist Gustavo Tamayo who has managed to make an international name for this laser center. Bogota Laser Refractive Institute is the most advanced center of eye surgery in Colombia and one of the best in a global scale. This laser refractive institute corrects refractive flaws such as: Myopia, Hyperopia, Astigmatism and Presbyopia. All of this is because Bogota Laser counts with state-of-the-art technology; this includes the VISX S4 laser with personalized ablations. Bogota Laser Refractive Institute was founded in may of the year 2001, as one of three affiliated centers outside Colombia, these are: Aruba Laser Refractive Institute and "Cancun Centro Medico De Cirugia Refractiva". BLRI organization was founded by four ophthalmologists with over 18 years of experience in refractive surgery, therefore becoming an FDA approved center. Since then this institute has had over 9000 patients, has developed two patents for eye treatment under the guidance of Gustavo Tamayo and has produced several research projects for several companies based in the U.S and Germany. This center has been selected by the second version of the television reality show Extreme Makeover ("Cambio Extremo: 2) as its surgical center.
