Blind Point
The game play differs from that of a traditional racing game with cars; the player instead controls a space ship which fly through space. Examples of similar games are the F-Zero series, Wipeout series and Hi-Octane.
Blind Point is the first title to be released from Bandit Rogue Interactive Ltd, it is a racing game set in fictional space like environment. It allows full motion in all three dimensions. Races take place around a space station flying through hoops.
The game has a stylised graphics style when rendered as designed, the game renders using the standard OpenGL fixed pipe-line if pixel shaders are not found. The game renders in grey scale with the exception of elements of the HUD and the circuits which the player race's around. It is rendered using a cell shading technique.
Game Development
The game was developed along the business plan of Bandit Rogue Interactive Ltd, as such the entire project took under £100 to make. This was done by not paying the team that created it whilst developing the game but instead giving them a very high royalty shares from all sales.
The game's cost was also reduced through the use of free software and library's. The tools used for development where Code::Blocks IDE, GIMP. Some of the library's that where used where Irrlicht Engine, Open Dynamics Engine and OpenAL.
