Black Eagles MC

Black Eagles MC (BEMC) is a Middle Eastern motorcycle club. Common nicknames for the club include the "Eagles", "Black & Grey" and "25" (2 and 5 stand for the second and fifth letters of the alphabet, corresponding to B and E). Black Eagles MC is an organized club of motorcycle riders and enthusiasts and it does not officially follow, support or have associations with any other motorcycle clubs from around the world.

Identity

The club's standard is a Black Eagle, representing the bird of prey (Ictinaetus malayensis). The Black Eagle has an indirect connection to the founding chapter in Dubai, where the national bird is a falcon. Members of the club use the term "E.F.F.E.", which ostensibly stands for 'Eagles Forever Forever Eagles'. An informal motto used by members is "we lead, you follow, or get the hell out of our way".

Patches

Since founding, the club has used black and grey colors in a 4-piece patch for full members and a 2-piece patch for prospects. Patches are sewn onto or attached to a cut or vest. The top part of the patch shows the club name. The center part of the patch shows the Black Eagle logo. The bottom part of the patch shows the chapter identification and the letters "MC". For a time, members wore identifying patches indicating the member's place within the club structure, but this practice was dropped in 2012.

Membership

Joining the club is a lengthy process. Individuals start by being "hang-arounds" (persons showing interest in becoming a member). Hang-arounds are invited to some runs (rides the club go on) and events, where they can show suitability and meet members. A hang-around may request membership status. If he receives support from all members, he becomes a prospect. During this period, which lasts for 12 to 18 months, new members must go through a probationary term during which they have no voting privileges. Prospects are evaluated for suitability and, if the membership agrees, are eventually promoted to the status of Full Member or Full Patch. A Full Patch is a term referring to a member that carries all 4 parts of the club patch.

All members must know how to ride and should have a valid motorcycle license and a cruiser bike (preferably American made) with no minimum or maximum engine capacity.

Community and charity

Black Eagles MC are known within the biker community of the Middle East for organising, participating in, and supporting various events such as breast cancer awareness, autism fundraisers, special Olympics, Toy Runs, and National Day Parades.
