BHDP Architecture

bhdp architecture is dedicated to the creation of human environments that impact behavior and enrich people’s experiences. Through the design of experience architecture, bhdp encompasses the entire design spectrum through engaging environmental graphic design, site design, research, strategy implementation, interior architecture and architectural design in the overall process.

History

bhdp architecture was formed through a partnership between Cyrus Baxter, Jack Hodell, James Donnelly, and James Preston in 1960. It was an outgrowth of Woodward & Baxter Architects, founded in 1937. Early commissions from Cincinnati Milacron helped the firm grow to be a solid, long-standing partnership to which many clients turned for expertise and reliability.

Today bhdp is known for its designs for workplace, science + technology, higher education and retail organizations worldwide.

Learning Space Design

bhdp studies the way learning takes place both inside and outside of the conventional classroom. design flexible, collaborative learning spaces that accommodate a variety of teaching methodologies. Specialized learning spaces that are focused on include classrooms and auditoriums, computer laboratories, group study and collaborative learning spaces and libraries and learning commons.

Science

Through an integrated design process, bhdp develops academic science and research laboratory facilities that will support the nation's explosive growth in the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) disciplines. These environments emphasize interdisciplinary interaction, collaboration, project-based learning and visibility for the sciences on campus while providing flexible teaching and research laboratories.

Student Life

Understanding students’ non-academic needs is essential to understanding how to plan student life facilities. bhdp keeps students at the heart of the design process by allowing students to provide their input through visioning sessions.
