Betty page contract

A Betty Page contract is a contractual agreement between a photographer and a model where it is agreed that any profits made from the sale of the photographs will be shared in some sort of profit sharing arrangement.

Origin

It is believed that the term came AbOUT as sort of an homage to Betty Page, a photographic model who had no such agreement and as a result saw very little of the revenue generated by her iconic images and photographs. The idea behind such a contract nowadays would be to PReVENT a model from suffering this same fate.

Contents

A standard Betty Page contract will specify how much will be paid in royalties for any sale of images released by the model. It will often not include an amount of money paid up front but is still often considered more desirable to a typical TFP or TFCD release as it will at least have the possibility of providing some profit to the model, should money change hands.
