Best Kebab
Best Kebab is a kebab shop in Glasgow. It has become infamous among Glaswegians for "the dismal quality of its döner meat", the owner of the establishment, and a TikTok trend involving criminal damage and violence against the establishment.
Origins
Best Kebab was opened 30 years ago and became a well-known establishment due to its late opening times and convenience of location. As time went on, Best Kebab became more and more well-known. As Robbie Armstrong of The Bell described it:
"Best Kebab is comfortably the city's most notorious takeaway. It is the stuff of urban folklore and tales told down the pub, memories of student days and well-lubricated walks home after a night out."
Increasing notoriety
The shop became notorious for the poor quality of its kebabs, earning it a 1,8-star review on Tripadvisor. The owner is known to respond to bad reviews. The increase in notoriety of Best Kebab has led to an increase in internet content about Best Kebab in the form of insults shouted at the establishment, eggings, harassment, and other acts. This is usually done to evoke a reaction from the owner, who is known to react by threatening to call the police, swearing, throwing food, and even chasing tormentors down the street with a weapon.
TikTok trend
In recent months, Best Kebab has become a victim of a TikTok trend involving criminal damage and violence against the establishment. The police in Glasgow have been alerted about the trend and as a consequence, the police patrol outside the establishment.
