Benjamín Duarte Jiménez
Benjamín Duarte Jiménez (May 10) 1900 – July 10 1974) Cuban artist born in Cienfuegos, with no academic education therefor is considered a self-taught artist.
Individual exhibitions
Many of his individual exhibitions took place in galleries and rooms in Havana, Cuba. Among them are that one displayed at Galería La Rampa in 1954 and Galería de La Habana in 1969. He also presented his paintings in Galería de Arte, Sopot, Poland, in 1969.
Collective exhibitions
He was part of many collective exhibitions, for example, the one in Galerie Du Dragon/Galerie Weiller, Paris, France, in 1961. In 1970 he was part of the Salón 70, Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Havana, Cuba. Between 1972-1973 he participated in the III Trienal de Arte Naif, Copenhagen, Denmark, Belgrade, Yugoslavia, Museo Pushkin, Moscow.
