Ben Christensen
Ben Christensen (born November 16, 1986) is a footballer who was released by Sunderland and joined Blyth Spartans. He was part of Sunderland's 2004/05 pre-season tour to North America, during which he appeared in all four games played.
He was born in Whitley Bay but as a boy, Christensen played for Wallsend Boys Club, the same team which produced Newcastle United's record breaking goal scorer Alan Shearer. He attended Whitley Bay High School.
At Blyth Spartans, he plays as a versatile defender. He was voted Blyth Spartans player of the season for the 2006/2007 campaign. He impressed many opposition fans as well as Blyth fans.
