Beeverized Kabel
Beeverized Kabel is a conventional bid in the game of bridge. It was developed by Ben Beever in 2002 from the Kabel 3NT convention, with the intention of lowering the responses, making it more versatile and able to be used with weaker, more pre-emptive hands. It asks partner semi-specifically which aces he holds. The responses are:
Step 1 = No ace
Step 2 = 1 minor suit ace
Step 3 = 1 major suit ace
Step 4 = 2 aces of the same rank
Step 5 = 2 aces of the same colour
Step 6 = 2 'odd' aces (C+H or D+S)
Step 7 = 3 aces
The player employing the convention should hold at least 1 ace, but may have a void; usually there will be no ambiguity as to the usefulness of the ace(s) held by responder.
In the Juggler's Club system, an opening bid of 4 clubs is used as BK. After any response below 4NT, 4NT May Be used by opener to ask for kings in the same way, with any suit bid being a sign-off. If responder answers with 4NT or above (holding 2 or more aces), then step 1 by opener now asks for kings in the same way, with any other suit bid being a sign-off. If 5NT is available after the king response, then it asks for queens in the same way.
