Beers Enterprises, Incorporated (BEI), a private Delaware corporation, is owner and operator of The Switch, the leading video switching center in the New York metropolitan area. The Switch also provides advanced video switching services from its facilities in Los Angeles, Miami, Washington DC, and its first international location in London, UK.
History
The Switch was created in 1991 to provide cost-effective, customer controlled television and audio Signal routing services to the broadcast industry. Customers include domestic and international television networks, common carriers, local broadcast stations, and producers and distributors of sports, entertainment, news, financial and public service television programming. In 2003, BEI purchased the remaining interest of The Switch from their original partner GlobeCast, a subsidiary of France Telecom. The company has embarked on expansion plans to bring The Switch concept to other domestic and international cities.

The NY Switch
The New York Switch is located at 60 Hudson Street, NY, NY.
The LA Switch
The Los Angeles Switch is located at 3440 Motor Avenue, Los Angeles, CA and is adjacent to the facilities of Pacific Television Center (PacTV). The LA Switch occupies its own facilities on the ground floor of the complex and is supported by 24/7 technical assistance from the PacTV staff. The status of the LA Switch is monitored by the 24/7 NY Switch staff in New York, who maintains full control of the LA system. Trouble calls are handled by the NY Switch, with assistance, if required, from PacTV engineers on-site.
The Miami Switch
The Miami Switch is located in downtown Miami, FL. BEI acquired operational control of The Miami Switch from GlobeCast in 2006.
The DC Switch
The DC Switch is located at 2000 M Street NW, Washington DC, collocated with Eurovision Americas Inc.
The London Switch
The London Switch is a joint service agreement between BEI and Arqiva Limited. The facility is located at Arqiva's central London Hub at 64 Newman St, London, UK. Beginning summer 2008, The London Switch provided the UK industry with the first HD-SDI capable video switching service featuring convenient customer control. The London Switch is The Switch's first international location.
