BaYingQuan

BaYingQuan translates to "Eight Shadow Style" it is a Northern Chinese kung fu style, Bayingquan is a family style. It is based heavily on the combative, philospohical and moral teachings of the internal (nei jia) arts of China. Specifically Tai Chi Chuan, Xingyiquan, Baguazhang and 18 lohan Palm.

This style is in fact a drunken style of kung fu, it is very similar to Zui quan(drunken boxing) almost the same, exept it was intended for combat use and also different to Zui Quan since Zui Quan was a southern style.

it is said that the Ma Family inherited its drunken kung fu from a traveling monk who stayed with them for a time. They lived in Honan, not too far from the Shaolin Temple. The Ma Family were taught the drunken kung fu system in exchange for providing a temporary home for the travellers and has now been passed down though out the family till this day.
