Banu Toleukhanova

Banu Toleukhanova (born 15 November 1986) is a poet and writer from Kazakhstan.

Personal life

Toleukhanova was born in Kostanay Province, Kazakhstan, as the second child of Yesengeldi Toleukhanov (1949–2009) and Daniya Zhakupova. She also has a sister and brother.

Career

Being awarded with Diploma of Honours, she graduated from the International Relations department of the Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages. From student years Toleukhanova has been analyzing the global political process and the Middle East region interested her most of all. She worked on the course-work on Arabian-Israeli conflict and devoted her diploma work to Iraq campaign 2003. In spite of the fact that Toleukhanova has been working in the different spheres – from the service assistant and interpreter to the SAP specialist, she always considered herself a writer and poet. Toleukhanova started to write poems and prose since childhood. Her first published works were poems in the children newspapers.

Rebel Time of Sunset

Toleukhanova started to write her first novel Rebel Time of Sunset in October 2010 and completed the work on 2 June 2011. Before writing the novel, Toleukhanova pursued in-depth investigation of the chosen topic: she spoke with people, watched documentary and read a lot of materials about the Arabian-Israeli war.

In April 2013, she signed her first publication contract with American publishing house Alpha Wolf Publishing, which soon became imprint of Solstice Publishing. Another agreement concerning the same novel, Rebel Time of Sunset, was signed on 14 October 2013. The novel was published on 18 December 2013 through Solstice Horizons on Amazon.com (Kindle edition).

At the moment Toleukhanova is working on another novel in the political fiction genre.
