Baituraza
Baituraza (also written as bait-ur-raza) is the name of a sufi Muslim saint shrine situated in Lahore, Pakistan.
Syed Hakim Ali Shah more famous as Abu-ur-Raza was a Muslim Sufi saint who started preaching Islam in suburbs of Lahore during early twentieth century.
He inaugurated Baituraza as the common place for those who wished to get wisdom and knowledge of Islam and Sufism.
History
Syed Hakim Ali Shah Abu-ur-Raza was born in a small village called Kotli Fateh (although some references mention it to be Kotli Muno as well)near Gujranwala Pakistan.
He got his early education at home and was appointed as mosque Imam by the village people to carry out prayers.
After few years serving at the village mosque, he went to Sharaqpur Sharif , The Famous Dargah of Hazrat Mian Sher Muhammad Sharaqpuri.
He was welcomed warmly by Mian Sahib and was awarded with the Naqshbandia Khilafat.
He then went on for Qadri Silsila and faced the hardship of jungles and barren areas in East Punjab and central India.
By 1920 or so he could complete his Manazil and was awarded with the title of Abu-ur-Raza.
He came to Lahore and settled down near a small Village Pakki Thatti where he stayed till his passing to final abode.
A beautiful shrine was built by his son Sahibzada Syed Muhammad Siddique Shah Sahib on his grave which combines both of the modern architecture with the traditional culture.
A 3 day Annual Urs ceremony takes place at his shrine every year 18-19 and 20 Zil Hajj (12th month of Islamic Lunar Calendar).
