Bad Sekta

Bad Sekta is a UK independent record label, founded in Essex in 2005, with a mission statement to release new music and video by underground electronic music artists.

In 2005 the label released its first release, Various Autists 2, a compilation, featuring 16 tracks from ten artists, varying in style from Breakcore, IDM, Braindance to Gabber. This was limited to 400 copies and was mainly used as a promotional item.
Following this was a series of limited EDition cdrs (GeneRally of 123 copies), including Phuq - "K Muzak (volume one)", Phuq - "Ill Fm K Liveset Bizness", Lastboss - "Nishizono Shinji" and Cleggfu - "Teeth".
A limited dvdr series has also been started, with first release the "Value" ep by British audiovisual artist Shortfacedbear.
The label is also notable for its prolific output of (cost-free) mp3 releases, including Intonamori - "Ear Weevils 1" and a compilation, "Mpfree 1", featuring many up and coming artists from the UK experimental scene.
These releases also led to the setting up of a non-profit, mp3-only sublabel, Elfkore.
