Ayan Panja

Ayan Panja (b. June 1973, Essex) is a British Asian media doctor and writer.

He is the senior partner of a medical practice in Haringey, North London.

After attending school at Brighton College in Sussex he took a medical degree at the Imperial College School of Medicine, followed by training in general practice in Buckinghamshire.

His particular interest is in increasing public awareness of health issues and he does this through writing, radio and television.

He has written two books, including An Essential Medical Miscellany which is a collection of facts, figures and anecdotes AbOUT medicine and has also made contributions to various publications including the British Medical Journal, the Daily Mirror, Men's Health, 'Healthy' Magazine and Health and Fitness Online.

Panja is currently a presenter (Dr Ayan) on Street Doctor, a prime time medical reality TV series on BBC One. He has also guested on How to have [...] after marriage on Channel Five. He is married, has a son, and lives in St Albans, Hertfordshire.

He is a keen singer and musician with strong ongoing interests in the performing and recording arts. He has sung lead vocals in various bands, groups and MusicAL productions over the past 15 years.
