History

Avellum Partners was established in July 2009 as a boutique law firm specializing in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and restructuring. The company was founded by Mykola Stetsenko, who was a partner at the Kiev office of international law firm Baker & McKenzie, and Kostiantyn Likarchuk, who previously headed Melnychenko & Likarchuk attorneys at law. Mykola Stetsenko is well regarded in Ukraine for his significant expertise in the area of Corporate/M&A and capital markets and market sources single him out as an impressive practitioner. In 2010, Glib Bondar from Baker & McKenzie moved to Avellum Partners. Sources appreciate his talent for structuring deals in a way that avoids conflict. Bondar has led the banking and finance practice of the firm. He brought with him significant experience, having in prior years specialized in providing legal advice in the following areas: banking, finance, capital markets, securitization, structured finance, project finance and debt restructuring. In 2010, Glib Bondar was named as a lawyer of the year in Ukraine in the area of capital markets. The firm has hired 10 associates, all of whom have at some point worked with Mykola Stetsenko.
