Avaya TN799
The Avaya TN799 Control LAN (CLAN) is a hardware component which is part of the Avaya Communication Manager suite. Essentially a CLAN is a network interface device designed for use with a range of Avaya Communication Gateways or other compatible cabinets. Once installed, configured and connected properly to a network, the CLAN provides interfaces to other Avaya as well as 3rd party networked equipment such as servers.
In a static environment, a properly installed, configured and connected CLAN circuit pack will GeneRally operate without error or complication for many years. In a dynamic environment it May Be necessary to, from time to time, update the firmware on a TN799 board.
Uses
- Enable and manage IP station registration
- Serve as connection links for CMS (Call Management Servers)
- Serve as connection links for AES (Avaya Enablement Servers)

The TN799 product has been in production for some time. Avaya occasionally changes the hardware components used by their devices. Notable changes to the hardware are denoted by the term "hardware vintage". A new vintage is created when a significant change is made to the production hardware. , there have been 18 hardware vintages of the TN799.
