Atsitsa

Atsitsa is an alternative holiday centre located at Atsitsa Bay on the northwest coast of the Greek island of Skyros.
Atsitsa was established in 1982 by journalist Yannis Andricopoulos and psychotherapist Dina Glouberman. Guests come for either one or two-week sessions, which run from June to September.
Atsitsa was originally a spin-off from the Skyros Centre, founded in 1977 in the town of Skyros, on the east coast of the island.
Workshop leaders have included well-known names such as writer Sue Townsend, singing teacher Frankie Armstrong, writers Hanif Kureishi and Margaret Drabble.
Comedian Jimmy Carr credits a holiday at Atsitsa for his decision to leave his job to become a comedian.
The UK base for Atsitsa is at sister centre The Grange by the Sea, Shanklin, Isle of Wight.
