Atlantic Airlines (United States)

Atlantic Airlines, Inc. is an airline based out of the Lakeland Linder Regional Airport in Lakeland, Florida, United States. Atlantic Airlines operates Cessna 172 aircraft. Atlantic Airlines also has a division that conducts aerial photography throughout the southeast United States.

History

Atlantic Airlines began as Atlantic Pilot Service in November 1979 as a company that provided pilots to corporations that had company aircraft but did not operate their aircraft enough to justify the cost of employing full or part-time pilots. The company was based at the Tampa Air Center on the Tampa International Airport. The company originally obtained their pilots from the major airlines whos Captains had reached the age 60 retirement rule, and retirement was mandatory per the Federal Aviation Requlations, but still wanted their hand in flying on a part-time basis. The company has always been operated under the name Atlantic Airlines, usually operated doing business as Atlantic Airlines since 1982. On 24 September 24 2001 the company incorporated the name Atlantic Airlines in Florida. Atlantic Airlines filed for the registered trademark "Atlantic Airlines" with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on 6 April 1999, and was issued registered trademark status on 6 February 2001.
