Asgard computer core

The Asgard Computer Core was a fictional Asgard device in the science fiction television series Stargate SG-1, first seen in the episode, "Unending". The Asgard computer core is used to control some types of Asgard technology.

It should be noted that some segments of fandom erroneously refer to the Asgard Computer Core as a “power core”, but this is not canon & is just an example of poor comprehension (or possibly the beginning signs of the onset of hearing loss) of the episode “Unending”.

Overview

The device was installed on the Odyssey, a Daedalus class battlecruiser, during the Stargate SG-1 series finale.. Thor states, “The core has its own power source that will not infringe on your ships ZPM” to abate what ever concerns Col. Carter may have about power utilization before she voices them.

This bit of dialog has caused some confusion in fandom with some believing that the Asgard Computer Core is a power source when in fact it is a computer with it’s own power source to draw from. It is not canon to say that the power source within the core is powering any system external of it’s self.
