ARAX camera
Arax Foto is a Ukrainian tuning company located in Kiev. The owner of the company is Gevorg Vartanyan and has run the business for international customers since 2003. Prior to 2003 Arax sold their production only in the former Soviet Union.
ARAX upgrades all types of Kiev medium format cameras, lenses and accessories produced in the Arsenal factory which is also located in Kiev. This is includes the Kiev-6C, Kiev-60, Kiev-88, Kiev-88CM, Salyut, Salyut-C, Zenit-80 cameras. A group of qualified technicians from the Arsenal factory works for Arax. Engineers who are very experienced in their work with medium format Kiev cameras, lenses and new technological developments. ARAX repairs any part of a camera or lens and produce many variations and upgrades of the original cameras.
Arax produce a line of lenses with shift and tilt movements. These lenses are for both the medium format Pentacon Six mount as well as 35 mm SLR cameras e.g. Canon, Nikon, Minolta, Pentax, Sony.
Arax also develop and produce tilt and shift adapters allowing the use of Pentacon Six mount lenses on 35 mm digital or analog cameras. The tilt adaptor allows up to 8 degrees of tilt, while the shift adaptor can shift up to 10 mm. Both of these adaptors allow the tilt/shift axis to be rotated through a full 360 degrees.
Arax provides a repairing service for medium format Kiev cameras.
