AppleSource Software
AppleSource is a Software company based in Portland, Oregon, United States. The company that develops shareware applications for Mac OS X. It was founded by Perry Fjellman.
The first application to be released by AppleSource was a freeware MP3 player in October, 2000—AppleSource MP3. Released years before iTunes, it was announced to compete with the then-expensive and popular SoundJam application for Apple's System 8 MacOS, revolutionizing the market with an MP3 player that had a small footprint, required very little RAM, had superior audio quality in the playback, and was one of the first MP3 players to have alarm clock and sleep timer functions.
A hard drive failure and the release of iTunes 1.0 killed AppleSource MP3, however, shortly after, AppleSource released their first shareware application, TimeNet Pro. When Timeslips discontinued their time and billing product for Mac OS X, AppleSource launched TimeNet into rapid development.
In 2004, AppleSource released TimeNet Law for attorneys, as another product to bolster their line of practical business software for Mac OS X, partnering with multiple law firms for research and development to create a viable alternative to the now-discontinued Timeslips.
In 2007, AppleSource teamed with creative duo Your Visual Image, Inc. to re-brand the product line and release a new refreshed website.
