Apeejay Pitampura is a higher secondary school located in Pitampura, New Delhi.

== History ==

The beginning of Apeejay School, Pitampura dates back to May 1990, when the first admission was done for classes Nursery, K.G. and I. The school made a humble beginning when it started functioning in tents from 23rd July 1990. It was an important day in the history of Apeejay Pitampura when Mr. R.S.Chauhan became its first principal. The School prospered under his benevolent guidance for the next two years.

'''Mr. Dilip Kumar Bedi''' joined the school as Principal on 20th July 1992 and heads the school till present. He received the prestigious National Award by the President of India on Teachers’ Day, September 5, 2007

== Location ==

The School is located on Road No. 42 in Sainik Vihar (Pitampura), New Delhi (110034)

The school building was built on a four-acre plot allotted by the DDA. In 1990-91, a temporary structure with 5 classrooms and an Activity Room were ready. Mr. Suraj Sabharwal, the architect was given the responsibility to design the building. The construction of the building started in 1992. The school building comprising of the basement, ground, first,second and third floors were ready by 1994 and all the classes were shifted to the new building on 18th July 1994.

== Affiliation ==

The school had obtained the Essentiality Certificate from Delhi Administration in October 1991.The school got the recognition for classes Nursery to VIII on 22nd September, 1994 from the Directorate of Education, Delhi Administration.

The school was granted the affiliation for class X on 23rd September 1996 and the first batch of Class X appeared in Secondary School Examination conducted by the CBSE in March, 1997.

== Education System ==

The school offers a variety of subjects for the students.

Continuous assessment is done in class II to III and students are awarded grades.
Class IV - V students are assessed with four unit tests of 50 marks each and No terminal tests.

Terminal exams, along with unit tests are conducted for students of classes VI-VIII.

The CBSE guidelines are adhered to at Class IX, X, XI and XII. In Class IX and XI students are given both marks and grades.

== House System ==

The School follows a house system; where the students are divided into four different houses. The Houses are as follows:

* Equality House
* Peace House
* Unity House

The House system is followed for classes up to VIIIth
