Annie McCausland
Annie McCausland (born on July 30, 1984) is a Colombian singer. She was born in Barranquilla, Colombia. Her family introduced her to the music world at the age of 7. Her versatility encouraged her to explore different artistic manifestations such as Dance, Theater, Song and MusicAL INSTRUMENTS Interpretation like Soprano and Contralto Flute, Guitar, Piano, Acoustic Bass Guitar and Drum kit. Her first solo performance was at the of 12 in the Intercourse Festival of American Barranquilla High School where she carried out her studies, surprised her teachers, classmates and discovering her passion for solo song. The effort for reach any opportunity to do it, impulsed her to participate in festivals, intercollegiates, locals, regionals and nationals, such as Colombia Suena Bien, Festicanto, Viverolandia, ASCUN, PopStar y Factor X, reaching a lot of successes and recognitions.
Biography
Beginnings
She decided to undertake her music studies in UIniversidad del Atlántico en la Facultad de Bellas Artes. She was invited like solo soprano to thr Bellas Artes Chorus. She belonged to severals groups like: Quinteto Somos Cinco and the Coro de Cámara de Bellas Artes, Coral Kolinda and the Coral Cantemus of the Universidad del Atlántico. As songwriter, she was the winner of Festival Nacional Festicanto, in Manizales, with the single “No quiero tener que olvidar”, because of this, she was interviewed by RCN Radio. Among so much, the región al newspaper El Heraldo de Barranquilla was interested in her single and published a big special article in the Pelaos Section, recognizing the effort of this singer. She has a big success, she was interviewed on the Uniautónoma Radio by the journalist Jaime of La Hoz Simanca in his radio program of Fridays of Atlantic Radio, the sneak speak of Saturdays with journalists Rafael Sarmiento and Andrés Salcedo. By first time, the single was listened in the whole Atlantic Coast.
On 2004, she recorded her second single with the producer Carlos Mantilla and the songwriter and singer José David. Tu mirada, Háblame and Cielo para Dos, three singles which gave her a new way in her career like solo and which reflect her big passion, versatility and professionalism.
