Anna Ryder (frequently styled "annA rydeR") is a UK singer, songwriter, musician, writer, cartoonist and educator.
Career
Anna Ryder works sporadically on the UK folk club and festival circuit, sometimes solo, sometimes with her own band, and GeneRally as a freelance musician and teacher. She is a noted multi-instrumentalist, being ProFicient on keyboards, guitar, trumpet and French horn.
Anna Ryder has appeared frequently at the Cropredy Festival run annually by Fairport Convention. Her songs "Sailing Boat" and "The Crowd" have been performed / recorded by Fairport, and she has appeared as a guest musician on a number of their recordings. They in turn have appeared on hers, along with (amongst others) ex-Jethro Tull drummer Clive Bunker and Who touring keyboardist John "Rabbit" Bundrick. She has toured with Steve Tilston's band, as support with All AbOUT Eve, and had featured as a member of the Julie Felix Band. She has also worked with dancers from the Birmingham Royal Ballet, and has contributed to music education projects in the UK and Europe.
Anna Ryder has in addition published two books, one a humorous memoir of her support slot on the Fairport 1999 tour, the other a book of her own songs.
