Anjali Ameer
Anjali Ameer is the first transsexual to play a lead role in Indian Cinema. Anjali played the lead female role in the bilingual movie(Malayalam and Tamil) Peranbu along with south Indian actor Mammooty.
Personal life
Anjali was born in an orthodox Muslim family from Kozhikode district of Kerala. Her mother died in an accident when she was eight. After completing her class 10, she ran away from home as her family was unwilling to accept her desire to be a girl. She lived with transgender communities in Coimbatore and Bangalore for a couple of years. Anjali underwent a [...] change surgery at the age of 20. Her first break came when she was featured on the cover of popular Malayalam magazines Grihalakshmi and Monarama Weekly. South Indian actor Mammooty suggested her to director Ram after seeing her pictures on a popular Malayalam magazine.
She was later featured on the cover of the popular magazine Forward Life.
Filmography
Anjali made her debut in the bilingual movie Peranbu written and directed by Ram. The movie is said to be released in December 2017. Anjali is also doing an important role in Suvarna Purushan.
