Andrés Peláez

Andrés Peláez (born 30 April 1980 in Maicao, La Guajira) is a Colombian former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper and current goalkeeper coach. He is known for being an exceptional penalty taker, scoring 15 goals between the second division (13) and the Copa Colombia (2).

Currently, he serves as the goalkeeper coach for Barranquilla F.C.. He is also a lawyer, specialist in sports direction and management, and university professor.

Peláez began his professional career with Real Cartagena in 2003, where he played for one season. During this period, the club competed in Colombian football divisions.

In 2004, Peláez joined Atlético Junior (Junior de Barranquilla), where he played for three seasons until 2006. He established himself as a reliable goalkeeper during his time at the club.

Peláez returned to Real Cartagena in 2006 for one season. In 2007, he moved to Unión Magdalena, where he played for two seasons (2007–2008) and scored 9 goals. This was notable for a goalkeeper, highlighting his exceptional penalty-taking ability.

After 2008, Peláez played for several Colombian clubs including Cúcuta Deportivo (2009), Unión Magdalena (2010, scoring 2 goals), Valledupar F.C. (2011, scoring 3 goals), and Deportivo Pasto (2012–2013, scoring 1 goal).

He ended his playing career in 2013 with Deportivo Pasto, having scored a total of 15 goals throughout his career.

Peláez transitioned into coaching after ending his playing career. He currently serves as the goalkeeper coach for Barranquilla F.C.

Peláez is a lawyer and holds a specialty in sports direction and management. He also works as a university professor.
