Andrew Engdahl
Andrew Engdahl (born April 18, 1990) is an American community organizer, account executive, and congressional candidate in . He announced his candidacy in January 2022 and officially qualified for the ballot on February 15.
Biography
Engdahl was born in Los Gatos, California and attended California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, majoring in history. In, 2014 Engdahl began working as an sales manager for Oracle. Since 2020, he has served as an Account Executive at Postclick, a global sales company. He has also worked as a trained historian.
On January 8 of 2022, Engdahl officially announced his candidacy for 2022 Election as a progressive challenger to incumbent Mike Thompson. He criticized Thompson for his membership in the conservative Blue Dog Caucus and his past push for harsher marijuana laws.
Engdahl's campaign organized the first congressional debate in the district in over a decade, in association with UC Davis College Republicans. The debate included 5 of the 6 primary candidates but incumbent Mike Thompson declined to participate. At the debate, Engdahl called for passing Medicare For All, promoting bipartisanship, and attacked Thompson for staying in a caucus with anti-abortion Democrats.
According to the Napa Valley Register, Engdahl raised the second most campaign funds of the primary candidates behind Thompson. He told the paper that he did not necessarily plan on winning the primary but hoped to advance to the general utilizing California's Top-2 primary system, giving the voters a choice between two Democrats.
He has been endorsed by Democratic Party-backed Sonoma County Sheriff candidate Carl Tennenbaum, journalist Sarah Stierch, and the Progressive Candidates Organization.

Engdahl married his wife Kimberly, who works as a physician, in January 2019. He currently resides with her in Santa Rosa, California.
