Andrea Magini
Andrea Magini is an Italian sports physiotherapist and rehabilitation specialist associated with professional football clubs and national teams, including Chelsea F.C., Villarreal CF, the Chinese Olympic Committee, and the China national futsal team. He has been involved in medical and performance staff roles in Europe and Asia.
Education
Magini pursued studies in sports science with a focus on physiotherapy and athletic performance. He later became involved in higher education, contributing to teaching activities alongside his clinical work.
Career
Magini began his career in Italy, working in youth football development. He was a sports physiotherapist in the youth sector of ACF Fiorentina, where he worked on injury management and rehabilitation for young players. He worked with several teams and organisations, including the China national futsal team, the Chinese Olympic Committee, and a rugby national team in New Zealand. During this period, he was based primarily in Beijing.
He later worked in the Chinese Super League with Shijiazhuang Ever Bright F.C. in 2020 and Henan F.C., focusing on rehabilitation and injury prevention programmes. Magini joined Villarreal CF as a sports physiotherapist. Later that year, he became part of the medical staff at Chelsea F.C. During his time with the club, Chelsea won the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Alongside his professional work, Magini has been involved in academic teaching at the University of Siena since 2021.
