American International Education Foundation (AIEF)
American International Education Foundation (AIEF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to bridging the information gap between international students and US educational institutions. Since the founding of the organization in 1992, AIEF has been working with educators, local and overseas school representatives and government officials to promote American education to prospective students overseas.
AIEF's efforts have been supported by organizations such as the US Department Of Commerce, US China/Taiwan Business Council, Ministry of Education (MOE), and American Embassies overseas. This support, combined with that of hundreds of US schools, has allowed them to become a leader in international recruitment in China, Taiwan, Korea and Singapore and contribute to the 13 billion dollars international students bring to the US economy each year.
Importance of International Exchange
"Nothing, absolutely nothing, can replace the kind of learning that happens when individuals are able to have direct contact, for a considerable period of time, with people from different cultures and backgrounds." Harvard President Neil L. Rudenstine
International students bring many diplomatic, economic and academic benefits that have immediate and long-term effects on our nation and the world. International students who study in the United States become potential ambassadors to, and marketers of, our nation. They also gain a greater knowledge and appreciation for American values, customs, political systems and business practices. Many of these students return to positions of power in their native countries after graduation, helping to further important U.S. national interests. Particularly, Asia and Latin America, the advancement of democracy and economic growth has been attributed to a generation of national leaders who have studied in the United States. American students who study alongside international students also gain invaluable experiences that help them to understand and work with people from other countries.
Aside from providing a diverse community, international students provide with profound economic benefits. As education is among the leading exports in the United States, recruiting international students allows your school to share in the financial contribution these students bring to the U.S. economy. Over the years, AIEF has established long standing and significant relationships in the top nations in Asia that supply 57% of international students and are well trusted as a resource for current and accurate information AbOUT educational opportunities in the U.S.
