All Hong Kong Schools Jing Ying Football Tournament
All Hong Kong Schools Jing Ying Football Tournament is a football competition organized by Hong Kong Schools Sports Ferderation for elite teams from Hong Kong secondary schools.
The secondary school football competitions in Hong Kong are separated between the "HK Island & Kowloon" and "New Territories" regions. In The New Territories region, competitions are further separated into 6 sub-regions: Tai Po & North District, Shatin & Sai Kung, Yuen Long, Tuen Mun, Tsuen Wan & Islands, Kwai Tsing. Also, the competitions are divided into 3 grades according to the ages of students.
For All Hong Kong Schools Jing Ying Football Tournament, 12 teams from each of the "HK Island & Kowloon" and "New Territories" regions enter into this knock-out basis competition. It is an open grade competition. Students can participate in the Tournament irrespective of the grades they have been registered. Points are scored towards the "Outstanding School Award in Jing Ying Team Competition".
Eligibility for Participation
- Number of teams: 24
- Eligibility: 2 teams each from six Area Committees of New Territories (ACs of NT)plus 12 teams from Hong Kong Island and Kowloon Secondary Schools Regional Committee (HKSSRC).
Format
- 24 teams enter into the knock-out basis competition.
- 8 teams receive a bye for the first round where these seeding places are equally given to HKSSRC and 6 ACs of NT. For ACs of NT, 4 out of the Champion teams of the 6 respective Area Committees are seeded based on the top 8 positions of last year's Jing Ying Tournament. For HKSSRC, the top 4 teams of the current year Division One competition are seeded.
- Teams from HKSSRC and ACs of NT are alloted to compete with each other in the first round.
- Teams from the same AC of NT are alloted to compete separately in upper and lower tiers of the knock out table.
- 35 minutes for each half
- If the match ends in a draw at full time, no extra time will be played and the match will be decided by taking a penalty shootout.
Prizes
- Trophies and Medals will be awarded to the Top 4 Winning Teams.
- 1 Most Valuable Player(MVP)(Players who have been given a send-off (red card) or two cautions (yellow card) accumulated in the same match cannot stand for the selection of the MVP)
- 1 Top Scorer
- 1 Best Defender
