Ali Sasankhah
Ali Sasankhah (born 4 August 2003) is an American professional soccer player that plays as a defensive midfielder for the Richmond Kickers in USL League One.
Early life
Ali Sasankhah was born on 4 August 2003 in Shiraz, Iran, but he moved to Sacramento, California when he was young, and was where he was raised. He has Persian roots from his mother, Zahra Haghjoo, and she can even speak up to four different languages.
Youth and college career
He formerly played for Foothill High School where he led his team to a League title. He was there until 2019. He then went to Placer United Soccer Club, a club based in Rocklin, California. He stayed at Placer United SC until 2021, when he went to college.
In 2021, he went to the Sacramento State Hornets to play for their soccer team. He played at the club until 2024. Sasankhah made a total of 55 appearances and even scored two goals.
Professional career
On 16 April 2025, Sasankhah joined Des Moines Marathon in USL League Two.
On 6 March 2026, Sasankhah signed for the Richmond Kickers USL League One. On 21 March, he made his debut for the Kickers in a 1–0 loss against FC Naples. He made his first game as a starter in a 1–0 loss against One Knoxville SC.
