Alex Kruger (entrepreneur)

Alex Kruger is an American born, entrepreneur, startup enthusiast and sales development specialist. He is the VP of business development for SpotHero, an online parking transaction company.

Early Life & education

Alex was born in San Luis Obispo, CA, in 1989 to mother (Ilene Kruger) and father (Gene Kruger). His family moved to San Diego, CA where he attended Westview High School.

Career

Alex began his career as an internal strategy consultant at IBM.

Alex was hired by the CEO as Belly’s first employee. Alex acquired the company’s first set of merchants in Chicago, launched, grew and managed the company’s second market in Austin, Texas, and soon after did the same in New York City. He then moved back to Chicago to improve sales operations and launch the company’s Enterprise Sales channel.

During his time at Belly, the organization grew to a 100+ employee company and raised 10 million in funding from the VC Andressen Horowitz.

Alex was recruited in early 2013 to SpotHero, an online parking transaction company, to help expand the company’s presence nationwide. Since Alex’s arrival, SpotHero’s market presence quadrupled in size and the company raised its Series A.
