Akhil Sathyan
Akhil Sathyan is an Indian film director, screenwriter, and editor who is predominantly working with the Malayalam film industry. He is the son of Malayalam film director Sathyan Anthikad and the twin brother of film director Anoop Sathyan.
Career
Akhil Sathyan started his career as an assistant director to his father Malayalam film director Sathyan Anthikad. Later he started directing short films. That's My Boy (2015), s short film he scripted and directed, was his work as a filmmaker.
He made his directorial debut with the Malayalam film Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum (2023), starring Fahadh Faasil. This film received critical acclaim and box office success for its narrative style and performances.
In late 2025, Akhil directed Sarvam Maya, a supernatural comedy film starring Nivin Pauly and Riya Shibu. This film released on 25 December 2025 was a box office hit .
Apart from his passion as film director, Akhil is also a screen writer. and film editor. He wrote the story for Hridayapoorvam (2025), which was directed by his father Sathyan Anthikad .
