Ahmed Sabbour
Ahmed Sabbour is an Egyptian engineer that was born in Egypt on the 28th of March in 1964. He constructed many projects that influenced positively the Egyptian economics in the field of construction, including Saridar and various tourist villages in Sahl Hasheesh and Sharm El Sheikh. Ahmed Sabbour is the founder of Egyptian Junior Business Association, which helped in achieving sustainable business environment for young businessmen and facilitating 290,000 job opportunities for young Egyptians.
Early life
His father, Engineer Hussein Fayek Sabbour, is one of the pioneers of engineering consulting in the Middle East and is the Chairman of the Board of Al Ahly Real Estate Development Company. His mother, Mrs. Nagwa El Kosei, is the General Manager of Hussein Sabbour Consulting Bureau. Following his father’s footsteps, Ahmed decided to major in Engineering. He chose to study in the United States and in 1987 graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Civil Engineering.
Career
Since graduation, Ahmed has embarked on a rich and extremely diverse career. He is the Founder, Chairman of the Board, Partner, Managing Director and Member of the Board of several multi-million Egyptian pound companies. In 1989, he became Partner, Founder and Managing Director of Al Mohandessoon Development and Construction Company, with a paid capital of 17 million Egyptian pounds. A few years later, in 1994, he became Partner, Founder & Managing Director of Al Ahly Real Estate Development Company, with a paid capital of 250 million Egyptian pounds. Some of its most important projects include Arkadia and Saridar and many residential compounds all over Egypt. In 1996, he became Partner, Founder and Member of the Board of Directors in Egyptian Resorts Company (ERC). ERC has a paid capital of 1 billion Egyptian pounds and owns Sahl Hasheesh bay. In the same year, he also became Partner, Founder and Member of the Board of Directors in Oriental Resorts for Touristic Development, with a paid capital of 90 Million Egyptian pounds. In 1997, he became Partner and Member of the Board of Directors in Sharm Egypt Company, with a paid capital of 10 million Egyptian pounds. Before the year was out, he was involved in yet another project. He became Partner, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Al Abnaa for Touristic Development Company, with a paid capital of 40 million Egyptian pounds. In 1999, he became Partner, Founder and Member of the Board of Directors in Vista Real Estate Management, with a paid capital of 250 000 Egyptian pounds. In 2000, he became Partner, Founder and Managing Director of the Egyptian Company for Entertainment and Tourist Attractions (ECETA) - vicegerent for Al Ahly Real Estate Development Company, with a paid capital of 11.5 million Egyptian pounds. He also became Partner, Founder and Member of the Board of Directors in Al Mostakbal Touristic, Entertainment and Real Estate Investments - vicegerent for Al Ahly Real Estate Development Company, which has a capital of nine million Egyptian pounds. Not one to pause for long, Ahmed continued to find other ventures to join. In 2003, Ahmed decided to branch out of Egypt and start investing abroad. He became Partner, Founder and Chairman of the board of GITEC (Global Information & Technology Education Center) Company, with a paid capital of two million U.A.E. Dirhams and is based in Dubai. In 2005, he became Partner, Founder and Member of the Board of Directors in Al Arabia Real Estate Development Co. that manages investments for billions of Egyptian pounds. with a paid capital of 275 million Egyptian pounds. In he become founder and chairman of the board of Land Mark, in Relantex. Ahmed Sabbour is a member of many organizations and associations, with various different interests. The organizations and associations in which Ahmed is a member are: The Egyptian Junior Business Association (EJB), Cairo (of which he is a founder and former Chairman), The American society for civil engineering (ASCE) USA, CHI-EPSILON, USA (of which he is the former Vice President), The Institute for Social and Economic Policy in the Middle East (ISEPME), Harvard University, USA, The Urban Land Institute (ULI), USA, The Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), former Chairman (Cairo chapter), The Egyptian Businessmen Association (EBA), Cairo, Young Arab Leaders (YAL), Cairo Chapter, The British Egyptian Business Association (BEBA), Cairo, The Egyptian Italian Association in Cairo, he is a board member in Egypt’s International Economic Forum in Cairo, The American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Cairo, The Egyptian French Association (CAFÉ)in Cairo, The Egyptian Lebanese Business Association (ELBA) in Cairo, The Egyptian Scandinavian Business Association in Cairo, The Friendship Association between Egypt & Russia and the Independent Commonwealth States, and The International Scientific Business Management Association (Management Club)in Cairo. Ahmed Sabbour is a member in the Egyptian British Business Council. Ahmed Sabbour is also one of the founders of People and Police for Egypt
Marriage
He is married to Mrs. Rania Samaha, MBA holder and has six children: Hussein, Aly, Mariam, Nagwa and Taline and Diala.
