Aftab Iqbal (journalist)

Aftab Iqbal is a journalist and television anchor from Pakistan who currently hosts the political-humour talk show Khabarnaak on GEO News. Previously, he hosted the show Hasb-e-Haal on Dunya News before deciding to leave the channel. Aftab is the son of the Urdu poet Zafar Iqbal.

As a columnist, Iqbal has written for a number of publications, including the Urdu language Nawa-i-Waqt. He graduated with Masters from the Government College University in Lahore in 1985 and later undertook a diploma in history of Mass Communications from the San Jose State University (California, 1986). Apart from working as a reporter, he also served in capacity as a media advisor to the Chief Minister of Punjab throughout the mid 1990's. He has gained more exposure since his transition to the popular news channel GEO News.
